Application of limestone powder in cement concrete

Triisopropanolamine (TIPA) is one of the commonly used components of cement grinding aids. Currently, The strength and hydration properties of cement and Portland cement containing fine limestone particles have been studied. However, TIPA's research on the hydration mechanism of limestone Portland cement and the influence on the microstructure of Portland cement and limestone Portland cement hardened slurry is not comprehensive enough. Most of the cement grinding aids are alcohol amines and polyols. Alcohol amines mainly include triethanolamine (TEA) and triisopropanolamine (TIPA). Due to its high cost and poor performance stability, new grinding aid materials have been developed at home and abroad to replace or partially replace TEA. The structure of TIPA is similar to that of TEA, but in some respects, TEA is less used, less expensive, and more stable. Limestone powder has three major effects in the process of cement hydration: filling effect, acceleration effect and activity effect. Moreover, limestone powder has good water reducing effect and certain hydration activity. In ordinary Portland cement, limestone powder mainly acts on the nucleation of C3S in the initial hydration stage, promoting the hydration of C3S.
