In the cement industry production, when the clinker grinding to a certain degree of fineness, clinker fine particles will appear agglomeration, paste grinding phenomenon. The agglomeration and pasting of clinker particles lead to a significant reduction in grinding efficiency, which greatly increases energy consumption and production cost in actual production. It is found that cement grinding aids can not only improve agglomeration and pasting phenomena in cement grinding process, but also improve grinding efficiency, improve cement performance, reduce clinker consumption, and then reduce energy consumption in cement production. Triethanolamine (TEA) and triisopropanolamine (TIPA) are common grinding aids in cement industry. At present, there are many studies on the effects of the two grinding aids monomer, but there are few studies on the combined effects of the two grinding aids. In this paper, the influence of two kinds of monomer grinding aids on cement grinding kinetics is studied firstly, and then the effect of two kinds of monomer grinding aids on cement hydration and properties is studied by orthogonal test. Finally, based on the previous experimental study, the effect of their combination on the hydration and properties of Portland cement is further studied. The results show that TEA and TIPA can significantly improve the specific surface area and particle distribution of cement. In a certain grinding time, the two grinding aids can significantly increase the specific surface area of cement, and significantly increase the particle content in the range of 3-32 um, which plays a decisive role in the strength development of Portland cement. Low content of TEA can promote the development of early strength of Portland cement, but when the content of TEA is high, TEA is not conducive to the development of early strength of Portland cement. For example, when the content of TEA is 0.06%, the amount of CH generated by hydration decreases significantly, that is, the amount of C3S involved in hydration decreases. TIPA has no significant effect on the early strength of Portland cement, but it can significantly improve the later strength. The strength of 3d, 7d and 28d was improved by adding 0.04% TIPA. The strength of 28d Portland Cement was increased to 12.7% by adding 0.04% TIPA. The effect of TEA and TIPA composite on Portland cement is similar to the superposition of the effect of two monomer grinding aids alone. It does not change the hydration products or the hydration process because of the combination.
