Researches shows that Triisopropanolamine (TIPA) is a kind of isopropanolamine, and its production is mainly concentrated in a few developed countries, such as Germany, Britain and the United States.


Isopropanolamine and ethanolamine are both alcoholamines, which are similar in many aspects.Compared with ethanolamine market, isopropanolamine has a late start in development.


However, due to the increase of attention to environmental protection in recent years, the use of ethanolamine is limited to a certain extent, while isopropanolamine plays an alternative role in many fields due to its better performance and more environmental protection, and the demand continues to grow.


Triisopropanolamine can be used as gas absorbent, antioxidant, chain terminator of polymerization reaction, cement grinding aid, printing and dyeing softener, raw material of soap and chemical products, as emulsifier, zincate zinc additive, ferrous metal preservative, cutting coolant, etc. In the field of polyurethane, it can be used as polyether polyether polyol initiator and polyurethance crosslinking agent. It contains secondary hydroxyl group and tertiary amino group, which has auxiliary catalytic effect.


Triisopropanolamine has great application potential in the feild of cement grinding aids.


For a long time, the alcohol amine compounds used in cement grinding aids are mainly triethanolamine, but the dispersibility and late strength of triethanolamine are better than that of triethanolamine, and the demand continues to grow.


Due to the spatial structure of the alkane chain and hydroxyl isomerism of triethanolamine, the dispersion of triethanolamine is better than that of triethanolamine, and dispersion is an important indicator of cement, so the effect of triethanolamine, is better than that of triethanolamine in practical use. In terms of cement strengthening, triisopropanolamine greatly improves the late strength of cement by promoting the hydration of refractory minerals and improving the dispersion of cement, which is superior to triethanolamine.
